Wolfgang Mozart - Symphony No. 41 in C major, “Jupiter”
About the Program
Vivaldi’s Four Seasons has filled concert halls for centuries with birdsong, summer storms, autumn dances, and winter frost. In Four Seasons Recomposed, Max Richter returns to that familiar world and hears it anew.
Richter does not replace Vivaldi. He steps inside the music, weaving his own cinematic, post-minimalist voice into a work listeners already know and love. Auburn Symphony Concertmaster Emilie Choi takes center stage as soloist, bringing this vibrant reimagining to life.
The afternoon continues with Mozart’s Symphony No. 41, his final symphony and one of his greatest achievements. Later nicknamed Jupiter, the symphony rises with brilliance, grandeur, and a finale that dazzles with invention. Eternal Seasons opens the season with music that honors the past while moving boldly into the present.
