Embrace the vibrant spirit of American music in this dynamic celebration of cultural fusion and timeless masterpieces! Dvořák’s New World Symphony dazzles with its soulful English Horn solo and infectious rhythms, inspired by Native and Black American traditions and spiritual tunes heard in New York City in the 1890s. Coleridge-Taylor brings the pulse of “The Bamboula” , rooted in African American heritage, to life with rich melody and rhythm. Adding a lyrical touch, Italian composer Nino Rota – famed for his award-winning score for the hit movie The Godfather – is also revered for his elegant, rarely performed Harp Concerto.
