The 2025–2026 MasterWorks season begins in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month with a program rooted in cultural exchange, classical tradition, and artistic dialogue—an ideal starting point for Where Our Stories Meet.
Internationally celebrated guitarist Meng Su makes her debut with the Canton Symphony Orchestra in Joaquín Rodrigo’s Concierto de Aranjuez, a cornerstone of the guitar repertoire that contrasts restrained melancholy with moments of sweeping grandeur. The evening opens with Manuel de Falla’s El sombrero de tres picos, Suite No. 1—a lively, colorful adaptation of Andalusian folk dances and traditions originally written for ballet.
Mozart’s Overture to The Marriage of Figaro injects the program with sharp wit and kinetic energy, while Beethoven’s Symphony No. 4 offers a nuanced finale—at times playful, lyrical, and bold—reminding us that great storytelling through music transcends words.
